Isha Chawla is an exceptional clinician who received her Master’s in Physical Therapy Degree with a specialization in Orthopedics in India in 2005 and now has over 19 years of experience. She moved to US in 2012 and has been practicing in US since 2013. Her dedication to the idea of being able to provide more for her patients, motivates her to continue to learn and has so far logged more than 1500 hours of continuing education coursework over her professional career.
In 2021, she joined the elite group of Certified Functional Manual Therapists (CFMT), of which there are less than 400 in the world, through the Institute of Physical Art. The certification consists of a demanding seven exams, both practical and written, to demonstrate proficiency and effectiveness with evaluation and treatment utilizing the techniques taught by the Institute of Physical Art.
She also completed Schroth’s P1 certification through Scoliosis and Spine Online Learning (SSOL) and underwent 72 hours of intense training under the expert instructions of renowned Schroth’s Method practitioner and teacher Hagit Berdishevesky to enhance her ability to assess and manage spine rehabilitation for non-operative, pre-operative and post-operative scoliosis patients of all ages.
Isha is also pursuing Visceral Manipulation Training from The Barral Institute and Women’s Health coursework from Herman and Wallace Institute. She has several years of experience in conditions related to Women’s Health.
Furthermore, she holds specialized certifications in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, an effective technique for enhancing muscle strength within functional movement patterns. This expertise allows her to address impairments related to both neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions.
Karen Garrett, PT, DPT, MCMT, CFMT is an accomplished Physical Therapist with many credentials and ventures under her belt. She was inspired at a young age to begin a career in physical therapy when her father became a quadriplegic. She attended Quinnipiac University, making Dean’s List every semester and graduating with honors. She then went on to complete her Master’s Degree. She began working at clinics as a Physical Therapist in the New Jersey area while obtaining her Doctorate from Temple University. She then met her now husband and they moved together to Los Angeles. In California, Karen thrived in her career, becoming a clinic director then starting her own practice. Karen continuously seeks to expand her skills and knowledge and has successfully completed her Certification in Function Manual Therapy, a designation held by less than 10% of the physical therapists in the country. She has also completed the integration systems model series in Vancouver, BC.
As Karen continues her specialization of physical therapy craft, she has started a family of 2 beautiful children with her husband James. This has inspired her to move back to New Jersey, bringing her family closer to home. She is now happily a member of the Listening Hands Physical Therapy team and makes it her mission to uncover the untapped potential in all her patients so that they can live healthier and happier lives!
